Welcome to the Be Whole + Be Well + Be Wise Podcast with Dr. Shelly Tyler, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT and Dr. John Mark Tyler, DC, founders of Fiddlewood Farmacy, Functional Family Wellness. Through the lens of science-based AND Bible-based education, the Tylers are passionate to share the hope of Christ through their personal story of health, sickness, family struggles, and recovery. Until now, their voice has primarily been through presentations to the next generation of healthcare providers through continuing education instruction and adjunct teaching at the University of Evansville. Shelly is also the founder of Fiddlewood Farmacy (Functional Family Wellness) and the Restore Women's Health Summit. John Mark &amp; Shelly both are employed at Rehabilitation &amp; Performance Institute, PSC where they provide holistic physical therapy and chiropractic services to the families of Owensboro, Kentucky and the Fiddlewood Farmacy where they provide on-line functional wellness services to clients across the country. Shelly and John Mark live on Fiddlewood Farm in Kentucky, where they run an outdoor nature school (Fiddlewood Farm &amp; Forest School), manage a small homestead, and enjoy the homeschool life with their three children: Grayson, Paxton, and Abbi Grace.&nbsp;</p>
In this episode of Theology & Physiology, Shelly Tyler opens up about how her own chronic suffering changed her understanding of why God allows pain and trials in our lives. Through years of counseling those in pain, her views were shallow until 4.5 years ago when she underwent suffering herself, asking God hard questions. Scripture guided her understanding as she struggled with depression and a new identity.
Now Shelly sees how trials brought her intimacy with God and a truer identity in Him. She shares how suffering can shape us to be more like Christ through conforming to His image. Romans 8 is unpacked to show how the Spirit gives life, shapes us as God's children, and makes us "more than conquerors." Practical ways to practice "suffering well" include lamenting honestly, memorizing key passages, getting off emotional rollercoasters by changing underlying beliefs, and brain rewiring.
This thought-provoking discussion provides insight for anyone walking through chronic illness, pain, or hardships. Listen in as Shelly encourages viewing trials through an eternal lens to draw closer to our faithful God in the midst of suffering according to His purposes.

When I got married, I made the choice I thought you had to make: take birth control... and it took me years to dig myself out of the hole that it put me in!
Welcome to the first episode of my THIRD season of Be Whole. Be Well. Be Wise.
Today we’re talking about the truth about birth control and how it impacts the female body from a faith-based perspective. I hope this is an informative topic that will inform and educate you on some of the complications of taking birth control, otherwise known as hormonal contraceptives. I do not seek to offend or become controversial. I hope other women can see a timeline overlap from when their symptoms began and overlay it with taking hormonal contraceptives and I hope you can find ways to replenish your body, and make decisions based on this information that can improve your overall health and well-being.
We are going to dive into:
-the mechanisms of birth control
-how it impacts your brain, gut, and minerals
-how you know you are ready to conceive after taking hormonal contraceptive
-how you can replenish your body if you have taken hormonal contraceptives

Join Faith Harralson and I as we dive into the ONE THING women need for wholeness in body, mind, and spirit.
Being WITH Jesus.
Let's talk about:
How to keep our eyes on Him and off of what is going on.
How to discern the voice of our Father.
How to operate in gratitude.
AND, how to bring the Holy Spirit's presence into our daily lives and into our homes.
Friends, as we renew our mind, body, and spirit, let's get rid of distractions and focus on Him in our daily walks and usher His presence into our homes.
Psalms 69:29-32 Amplified
But I am sorrowful and in pain. May your salvation, O God, set me securely on high. I will praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving. And we will please the Lord better than an ox or a young bull with horns and hooves. The humble have seen it and are glad. You who seek God (requiring Him as your greatest NEED) let your heart REVIVE and LIVE.
He came because He loves You! I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and wait expectantly on our Coming King to transform your life this season!

What you believe about purity in your adolescent years can have a lasting impact on your mind and body for years to come. So much of the shame, guilt, physical and emotional pain that we experience in marriage is carried forward from what we believed about ourselves, God, and the opposite sex during these crucial years of development. Let's work together to restore the blessings and joy that Jesus intended when He encouraged us to live a pure life, so that the next generation can truly understand the freedom and abounding joy that comes from real purity.

Loss of joy is not always a choice. Sometimes there are physiological reasons you cannot feel joy the way you used to. Since the fall, Satan has plotted to steal our joy in Christ, even through the innate processes within our own bodies.
In this podcast, we will answer questions like: How does my gut-brain axis influence my state of joy? How does my brain respond to certain foods? How can I optimize my brain and gut health to allow my brain to respond to life’s situations with more joy and less overwhelm?

Let's discuss Joy!
When you think of the word "joy," what do you think of? Do you have a specific memory that brings you joy? What activities or experiences bring you joy? Conversely, what doesn't feel like joy to you, and how do you manage those emotions when you're not experiencing joy?
In this conversation, we will explore the definition of joy, how to rediscover it, and how to cope when joy seems out of reach.
