Join us to chat about all things, concert, poster, bands, music, and art. This podcast we share our passion for gig posters, particularly Dave Matthews Band, and the artists who create these works of art! This space is where art and music collide!
Join us for an artist interview with Chelsea Housand, from @housandarts as we take a deep dive into her recent "dragon" print from Goose the Band, Night 3 of their 30night run of shows in Cincinnati, Ohio. We talk all things from art, to music, to fantasy books! It's an EPIC episode, you do not want to miss this. We loved the opportunity to get to know Chelsea and share her story on how she got into being a gig/poster artist. Check out her work on social media across all platforms @housandarts! We are thrilled to have a piece of her artwork from an incredible show we attended!
How are we already at 50 episodes? We are beyond grateful for our friends and listeners, who have championed us to keep going and creating content and bringing you the conversations you are excited to hear! Today's another fun musing conversation where Erica and Mike chat about their recent trip to Winston Salem, NC to see Goose for their Western NC benefit concert. We got to share the excitement and joy with some of our friends and got to connect with the team at Conscious Alliance (the amazing non-profit that bridges art and philanthropy), get some cool fan-made merch from the "Seekers on the Ridge" Vendor Market at Fiddlin' Fish Brewery.
We chat about where we are headed: 3 night run in Cincinatti, OH for Goose, 2 night run for DMB at MSG, 1 benefit concert "Soulshine" in MSG, and 2 nights at Goosemas!
We can't wait to see you on the road.
It's the quiet time between the busy-ness and music of summer, and the lull before the crispy air and fall tour season. Mike and Erica chat all things end of summer tour, some September events (including our universally guided meet up with the band members of Goose), some upcoming excitement about fall and winter tour dates and some "recent acquisitions" to our poster collection. This is an exciting time of year where we are jazzed about seeing some music, meeting up with friends and seeing what new art we will be able to scoop! Huge shout out to some of our amazing friends and other podcasts over at The Slow Ready Podcast and The Pod that Jane Likes (both can be found wherever you listen to podcasts). If you haven't gotten into the band Goose, highly recommend starting with their album entitled "Dripfield", and go from there. If you are a Nugs.com subscriber, plenty of live music to stream as well!
Where will we see you on fall tour?
Episode 48: I'm Blown Away because we are overjoyed to be able to deep dive on one of the most unique diptych pieces done for the Dave Matthews Band! Today's episode, we are reviewing the 2 night poster set by artists (yes, plural) Todd Slater and Ben Kwok (aka Bioworkz) for the shows at Fiddler's Green Amphitheater in Greenwood Village, CO. This was the first artist collaboration for the Dave Matthews Band- and it was EPIC. Not only do Mike and Erica review the posters, we had a special guest join the podcast... Mr. Todd Slater himself! Join us as we chat all things art and collaboration with Todd. You can find Todd's work at @toddslaterart on Instagram and his website is www.toddslater.net.
What do you think? More collabs for your favorite bands? Leave us a comment on the socials!
LAST HURRAH OF SUMMER 2024!!!
Wow, summer always ends too soon, but with the end of summer tour, comes the last few posters and the grand finale of DMB shows at The Gorge Amphitheater for Labor "Dave" Weekend. Join Mike and Erica as they casually (and maybe chaotically) chat about the last few shows of the Dave Matthews Band 2024 summer tour. We chat briefly about the incredible collab by Todd Slater and Ben Kwok from Fiddler's Green in Colorado, the new artist Kathleen Neeley from Bend, Oregon... and what's speculating for the amazing Gorge weekend.
Are you headed to Labor Dave Weekend? What are you hoping to see for posters this weekend?
Today we get to chat all things art and energy with Owen Murphy from One Drop Design Studio! We are super excited to share this conversation with you where we get to drop into the world that Owen has created within his gig poster portfolio. Owen has created great works for bands such as Dave Matthews Band, Dead & Co, Billy Strings, Widespread Panic, Greensky Bluegrass (and more)! Check out our previous Episode 15 for a deep dive on Owen's "Dreamgirl" poster from Merriweather Pavilon in 2023!
Owen's world of art is diverse and ethereal- and inspiration comes from things around him, and from the depths of his creative unseen realm!
You can find Owen's work on Instagram @onedropdesignstudio or his website www.onedropdesignstudio.com!
Check out his upcoming event at the Further Frames show in Denver, CO in September 2024!
We're BACK! Today we're super excited to review the newest poster in our collection from the Goose the Band concert on June 23, 2024 in Charlotte, NC at the Skyla Credit Union Amphitheater. We had a wonderful time with friends and Goose that beautiful (and HOT) evening in NC! Today we are doing a deep dive on the gig poster by the artist Jake Rathkamp aka The Graphite Club. This new artists WOWED us with the unique imagery and ties to Charlotte (aka The Queen City). You can find more information from today's episode regarding "Metalmorphosis" at www.metalmorphosis.tv and Jake's work on his Instagram @the_graphite_club
Let us know what you are excited about after summer tour, and upcoming fall tour!
A poster "adjacent" conversation with artist and Project BOWA creator, Michelle Ramos. Michelle is a DMB fan who started creating beautiful DMB inspired bookmarks to hand out at shows back in 2022. Her bookmarks are beautiful and have garnered the attention of our musical community. Our conversation with Michelle circles around how her love for DMB music has created a pathway as an artist, and a hope and joy dealer as well. Her bookmarks from Project BOWA have brought unexpected joy and inspiration to the recipients. Her goal for 2024, to have her bookmarks at every DMB show during the summer tour. Art truly is in the eye of the beholder, and Michelle's inspired and beautiful art is sharing the "best of what's around" within our loving community. You can find Michelle's art at www.michelle-ramos.com and on Facebook and Instagram @projectbowa.
It's RECAP time!! This episode is a lot of fun as Mike and Erica review their epic weekend in West Palm Beach, Florida for the DMB Memorial "Dave" Weekend May 24-25, 2024.
