Welcome back for the first episode of the 2023-2024 hunting season! If you have followed along with this show for a while, then you know we are a sucker for a good hunting story! This one involves a recent trip to the mountains of New Mexico for the enchanted month of September, when the air is crisp and the elk are bugling. Garrett Grey, Primos product manager, had the opportunity to have his first chance at an archery bull, and we were lucky enough to be there with from start to finish! Enjoy!

In this episode I sit down with my older brother, Brett Pickle, to talk about his very recent, first successful, turkey hunt. Even though the hunt itself happened quick, this has been well over three years in the making. Check it out!

Any turkey hunter will tell you that every turkey they get is special but none captures the heart quite like the first. In this episode I get to share in telling the very special story of my wife's first turkey hunt. As every turkey hunting story should, it's full of unexpected twists and turns.

This week Jordan and I discuss the craziness that has unfolded in the early part of our home state's turkey season so far. Everyone loves a good turkey story! Check it out!

Let's catch up on the action of spring turkey season so far. We've had hens charging at a coyote, very cooperative osceola gobblers, a bonafide sneak hunt, participating in turkey research projects, and more!

Join us for the recording from our live show that took place February 28, 2023. We talk about the the people and organizations that came before us and made turkey hunting possible for future generations, we talk with Pete Daughtery from Turkeys For Tomorrow about current research projects, and as always we make room for hunting stories and laughs.

First and foremost, this episode's purpose is to be informative and perhaps shine a light on an issue that could potentially be doing much more harm than good. We are joined by Dr. Marcus Lashley and Dr. Will Gulsby to discuss a subject that hasn't been talked about much; the effects of baiting/supplemental feeding on wild turkeys. I assure you that you don't want to miss this one.

We interviewed our wives about their first every turkey hunting experiences with us! As you could imagine, between some misses, spooked turkeys, and stolen turkeys, things get pretty interesting to say the least! I can promise you, this is one you don't want to miss!

Dr. Gulsby and Dr. Lashley are two of the foremost experts in realm of wild turkeys. Today we join them to discuss some of the most nuanced and talked out subjects in the turkey hunting world today.

What to expect:

- the decline of turkey populations and its severity

-some states have changed their season framework. What's the impact?

- Are methods of take a genuine/plausible cause for concern?

-current research projects to pay attention to

and much more. Check it out!

It is officially February, which, to Jordan and I means that we are officially free to talk all we want about spring and gobbling turkeys without anyone giving us any grief. In this conversation we'll talk about plans for spring, plans for turkey season prep, plans for live podcasts, and a whole lot more.
