At Wally Opus, we believe that imperfect parts can make up a perfect whole. Our mission is to enter the depths of the ordinary to discover the extraordinary and bring to life the best version of the projects of the recording artists and music producers we represent. Located in Evansville, Indiana, the independent record label Wally Opus Records was started in a tiny West Virginia Street apartment by Wesley Luttrell in April of 2020 as a vehicle for producing, packaging, and releasing the music he was hearing around the Southern Indiana area. Today, the label consists of a small, spirited team of relentless, committed believers who build meaningful projects for artists from Indiana, Kentucky, New York, and Los Angeles. Hosted and created by label founder, Wesley Luttrell, The Wally Opus Podcast is focused on discovering extraordinary insights through ordinary conversation. The show consists of solo-discussions with Wes about music and entrepreneurship and how those two loves of his meet in the Perfectly Imperfect label from Southern Indiana, and interviews with guests ranging from recording artists to entrepreneurs to painters and the occasional real estate agent.
I love any chance I get to talk about our artist, their music, and the story of our label with people who are genuinely interested. So when Maren Logan of Purdue University's student led Wiley Radio station asked to interview me about the label and our playlist collaboration, Bootgaze Bootleg, I jumped on it! Released on the label's 4th birthday, this recording is one of the more complete renditions of the Wally Opus story; past, present, and future. Thank you for listening. - Wes from Wally Opus

It's a been over a year since the last release of The Wally Opus Podcast, so I thought it'd be nice to do a re-introduction as well as try out a new format I've been working on with help from a few friends. - Wes from Wally Opus

I've decided to lay to rest the theme/brand/name, "Mining In The Foothills", and have renamed the podcast, The Wally Opus Podcast. Nothing about the show's format will change; only the name. I'll continue interviewing Doers (artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, badass folks) from around the Midwest with hopes of inspiring you or entertaining you or perhaps teaching you something about something cool. Please share the show with others who think will enjoy it and thank you so much for choosing to listen. - Wes From Wally Opus
