In this podcast I focus on the totality of the college athletics experience and the impacts this experience has on an athlete’s mental health and wellness. Myself and various guests come on to share stories of what has been successful and what has not been successful for them as thy enter and as they leave the world of college athletics. Through these solo episodes and interviews, I work to give listeners ideas, tools, stories and most importantly a sense of comfort in knowing you are not alone in your struggle navigating through the confusing world of student athlete lifestyle.
The changing of the weather signifies more than just pumpkin spice lattes and fall scented candles, it means back to the grind of student athlete life for those us of playing collegiate sports. And while it is an overall exciting and fun time, it can also stir up a lot of mental pressure for those participating. In light of that I am sharing some life lessons and reminders that I am brining with me into this new fall "Back to School" season!
Join me as I hit the 'Sandbox' again to discuss the traction the world of beach volleyball and the rise of young stars on the AVP tour and how I believe mental wellness is tying in to all of it!
It's no secret that the Olympics put on display some of the most talented human beings on the planet and it's where sports stars are born and can truly shine. Join me in this episode where I discuss what I believe is the biggest star in this year's 2021 Olympic Games. (spoiler: its porbably not what you think!)
In today's episode I sit down with my good friend and fellow Cal Beach Volleyball alumni Maddie Micheletti to have an open conversation on what it is like being a collegiate beach volleyball athlete and how to successfully manage your roles in that realm along with your mental health
It's a new era in sports ladies and gentleman and also a new era for this podcast! On this episode I talk about what the future looks like for "Life's A Beach" and also discuss what the passing of the Fair Pay to Play Act looks like for a specific niche of athletes.
In my first episode of the segment known as "Outside the Sandbox" I sit down with Hannah Gordon of the 49ers front office staff to take you outside the world of beach volleyball and into the world of football as she details her journey to becoming the chief administrative officer and general counsel of the San Francisco 49ers.
Today's topic covers how stereotypical "fair weather" fans can benefit from the world of beach volleyball!
My first guest Molly Turner, an All American GCU beach volleyball alum and player on the AVP circuit, and I sit down to discuss the idea of body image in the world of beach volleyball and how that affects mentalities of players in a variety of ways.
