Dhamma talk by Bhante Bodhidhaja, at the Buddhist Society of Victoria (BSV).  It is suggested that you listen to Part 1 first which can be found here.  Then Part 2 which can be found here.

Bhante Bodhidhaja, born in Switzerland as Nicolas Vrticka was introduced to Buddhism at an early age by a neighbour. After graduation Nicolas worked as a primary school teacher and chose social work as an alternative for compulsory military training in Switzerland.

At the age of 21, while on a visit to India in 2003 Nicolas took on a temporary ordination under the late Acharya Buddharakhita who gave him the monastic name Bodhidhaja and since kept the same name in memory of his Teacher.

From late 2006 Nicolas spent time living, practicing and serving as a lay person in different Monastic communities around the world. Upon returning to Perth BSWA in 2010 became an Anagarika followed by being a novice and higher ordination in 2012 under Ajahn Brahm. Bhante Bodhidhaja is part of the BSWA Monastic Community.

Ajahn Brahm conducts an intermediate/ advanced meditation class for approximately one hour. Ajahn Brahm talks about the joy, peace, energy, clarity and wisdom which comes from meditation. Ajahn shares a simile about how you need stillness and wisdom or insight in your meditation.

Ajahn Jhanarato hosts this week's session at the Roleystone Family Centre.  These weekly session are free and led by one of the Buddhist monks living in Roleystone at Kusala Hermitage.  These sessions are usually one hour in length and held at the Roleystone Family Centre.

Tuesday 26th November 2024

Bhante Cunda joins the Armadale Meditation Group on-line live. Armadale Meditation Group (AMG) is designed to teach you about meditation. The classes generally begin with chanting the Metta Sutta, then receiving meditation instructions and meditating together, followed by asking questions and finally if time remains listening to a Dhamma talk. However, the layout can vary. Due to social distancing regulations, these weekly Tuesday night teachings are happening via Zoom from Bodhinyana Monastery.

Monday Night Meditation at the Cambodian Society of WA (CBSWA) with Venerable Kassapa. These weekly teachings give an introduction into meditation and some guidance and basics into the practice of the Buddhist Path. They usually consist of a short talk, thirty minute meditation and then questions & answers.
