All things "Classic KNAC". Airchecks, interviews, memories, news, and info regarding the station's 1986 to 1995 history.
On the last episode we spotlighted "final days" interviews with the full-time "on-air" staff at KNAC. On this episode, which aired on the 2-5-95 Pure Rock Talkback Show with Mike Stark, the part timers and "specialty" shows are spotlighted - including Craig Williams (Local Show), "Animal" Ana Lee, Eveready Ed Kelley, Rey De Carlo (Razor) and Talkback producer Patti Hanselman. Also included is a call in from "Cathouse" host Rikki Rachman and some rare demo cuts (courtesy of Craig Williams) from Motley Crue and Guns 'N Roses.
The final episode of KNAC's Pure Rock Talkback included an hour montage of the show's "greatest hits", followed by an open interview/discussion with the final on-air staff at the station - Ted "Thrasher" Prichard, "Dangerous" Darren, "Nasty" Neil, Gregg Steele, Stew and Long Paul. Included are callers with best wishes and thanks to the staff. A grand celebration for sure.
A month before KNAC left the air Pure Rock Talkback host presented on his show the history of Pure Rock KNAC. Included were airchecks from the nine years and interviews with three of the people that were there at the start of the format - General Manager Gary Price, Operations Manager/News Director Bill Banks, and Program Director Jimmy "The Armored Saint" Christopher. Also, the final staff "goodbyes" and the station sign-off.
