We believe that George R. R. Martin has put a lot of effort and thought into creating a deeper dimension of archetype and symbol in his writing. He’s created connections between past and future, between sky and ground. He’s built on classic figures from world mythology and twisted them around in new and incredible ways to fashion his own archetypal characters whose divine roles are played out by the characters in the story. He’s done all of this not only to be artistic and clever, but because he’s actually participating in a grand tradition of esoteric, symbolic art. Keeping this tradition alive is of critical importance and tremendous value to society, and that is why I believe this facet of A Song of Ice and Fire is so worthy of study. This podcast is intended to be our vehicle to explore these inner workings, and it is fueled by enthusiasm, yours and mine.
All of my very best White Walker theories, now freshly edited for pacing and with hundreds of new images added! Part 2 of the White Walker Iceberg picks up with ancient greenseer and skinchanger kings, ancient pacts and baby sacrifice to the Others, figures and groups who symbolically parallel the Others, theories about who Night's King and Queen really were, what magic swords, the comet, and Azor Ahai have to do with the Others, the magical implications of the Tower of Joy, Jon's true purpose, the truth of the Nightfort, the weirwoods, and the original sin that created the Others and how to remedy it. And also 'did they come from space.' Varamyr, Bran the Builder, Val, Lyanna, and more.

Newly edited w/ tons of new pictures! The complete Great Empire of the Dawn story, from Asshai to House Dayne to the Wall! From Azor Ahai and the Amethyst Empress to Jon and Daenerys, this is a close to a combined theory of everything that I have to offer! The original was 6 hours, so I've streamlined quite a bit (note: the Sothoryos section was cut altogether, because I've updated all those ideas in the Sothoryos video :)
The definitive case for Daenerys Targaryen being the fulfillment of the prophecies of Azor Ahai's rebirth and The Prince That Was Promised, and detailed foreshadowing of her endgame (which will mostly be very different from the Game of Thrones ending!)
@girlnettles and @GreyWasteTim join me to break down the many schemes of Petry Baelish, known as Littlefinger, from his provoking of wars to his use of people as pawns to his towering resentments and his embrace of greed and corruption. Lots of Lysa in here too, some Sansa and Cat and Hoster, and of course we'll talk about Littlefinger's future plans as the story goes forward. Nettles and Tim bring down the house with their table reading of Lysa's death speech!!

It's true, Alicent Hightower... is pretty damn funny. Her characterization of House of the Dragon, I argue, is masterful, and a psychology-deconstruction field-day for those of us intimately familiar with well... people like Alicent. And Criston! We'll get into their relationship, and whether it makes sense for the characters.

Rumors that Nettles has been cut from House of the Dragon are flying, so let me give you the scoop, and more importantly, tell you why Nettles is so important to the story. Like Dany, she is rediscovering original Valyrian magic, and her character's commentary on class and prejudice in Westeros is unique and fascinating.
