What Is Antifa?

The Antifa movement is a movement without a clear hierarchical structure or a defined program, so it is not a traditional political party or group. Its name responds to the contraction of the English word antifascist.<br /><br />The objective of its supporters, the vast majority of whom are young, is to annul fascist, racist, neo-Nazi and extreme right-wing groups and interrupt their actions so that they do not promote their ideas contrary to migrants, ethnic minorities, women or the members of the LGTBIQ + community.<br /><br />Find out more in this podcast.

Sympathizers of the Antifa movement justify the use of violence against fascists to prevent them from using it before against the groups they defend.

During the demonstrations, they usually wear black and with their faces covered so as not to be identified. In recent years they have put this philosophy into practice in demonstrations organized by supporters of the extreme right.
