Gareth purchased his first set of ‘Technics 1210’ decks when he was 17, and since then he has experimented with different styles of dance music, honing his skills as a DJ along the way. In the early 90s while living in London, the dance scene started to gain momentum cementing his dance music addiction! After a few years of DJ’ing in his bedroom and at friends’ parties, his style gravitated towards house and UK garage, which by the mid 90s were dominating most of the London club scene. Several stints on pirate radio stations and regular slots at various clubs around the north-east of London evolved Gareth’s music taste, with him focussing more on house and trance, thus following in the footsteps of DJ’s such as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha & John Digweed. After London, Gareth moved home to Plymouth for a few years, where he met Jim `TC` and Steve Bell who both owned a record shop in the town called ‘Needle to the Groove’ and jointly owned a nightclub called ‘The Candystore’, which in Gareth’s opinion was the best club in Plymouth! Within a few months, he started to work alongside Jim `TC` promoting the club. Now based in South Wales, Gareth has DJ’d at ‘Liquid’ and ‘Life’ nightclubs in the heart of Cardiff, which catered for all aspects of music from chart, urban and dance 7 nights a week. Involvement in the Cardiff club scene allowed him to promote some of the biggest club events in the UK, such as Cream, Slinky, Sundissential, Timeflies, Moneypennys, L`America and Fresh City, with regular outside radio broadcasts for Kiss 101 FM and BBC 1xtra. In 2005, he had the opportunity to help manage his first festival for the Fresh City Arena in Swansea, with Escape into the Park welcoming over 20,000 mad clubbers! Gareth worked at Liquid for over 3 years before moving to ‘Evolution’ nightclub in Cardiff Bay, where he spent 2 years overseeing monthly club events from Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Escape and Time Flies. Gareth has continued to DJ at clubs across the country and promote events nationwide, working with some of the biggest names in event promotions and the DJ`ing world. Today you`ll find him at Houseaholics events, the terrace at PL4 (Plymouth), the world famous 360° bar in Dubai as well as presenting on reelhousetv.com. This amazing platform allows him to play the music he enjoys, and share his passion with people around the globe. In 2018, guest slots on GTFM 107.9fm in Wales opened his heart to new and exciting avenues.
