Adorning your knockers on your front door, brightening up your back door, on the wall, or over the mantle piece - your creation and your choice, your Wreath. 

The history of the Wreath is fascinating and in this episode Lucy and Paulie delve into the wreath over the past centuries. Touching on St Lucy's Day, 13th December, when St Lucy herself wore a wreath on her head to help those in need. 

With the most fantastic of Christmas Elfs as the contributor - the amazingly talented flora legend that is ..... Paula Pryke.  Listen to how Paulie even used sweets to create one of the most memorable and edible wreaths of all time!

The Christmas Tree is possibly one of the most iconic sights during the Festive Season and in this episode our Fabulous Flowers tv twinkly twosome Paulie and Lucy, investigate the history of this majestic symbol, its heritage and a rather touching Norwegian story!

Paulie tells of how he used to enjoy decorating his family tree as a child and shares some of his Christmas wedding stories with some coloured baubles going astray for a castle in Scotland and tells of a secret door where celebrities were harboured in a famous London hair salon where he delivered rather bespoke Christmas decorations. 

The incredibly talented floral decorator Paul Thomas is this weeks FFtv contributor and he is most renowned for his Christmas Trees at The Ritz Hotel in London, as well the the odd Royal Wedding!  Hear his tips on how to make the most of your tree this year and elevate it to professional heights.  

Poinsettias feature as this weeks Floriography Fun Festive Facts and we learn how they were given their name, arrived over in to Europe from Mexico and are now symbolic with the festive season worldwide.

Lisianthus or 'Lizzies' to the flower trade - what a twirling, fluttering and unfurling little flower.     

Paulie shares his fun and factual tips on how wonderful these little beauties are for weddings, bouquets and frankly any vase you like!  Even Lucy uses these as they are readily available in her local supermarket as well. 

Inexpensive to buy in the supermarket or corner shop Lisianthus in shades of pink, purple and in creams and whites they can be paired with all kinds of other star performers such as peonies, roses or stocks and yet are also capable of stealing the show on their own. And they last for a long, long time. 

Sometimes known as 'Prairie Gentlemen' or a 'Poor Mans Rose' - you can see way, as they have wistful, fluttering petals that unfurl in a roselike way and they herald from hot parries and barren deserts. 

For the Floriography Fun Facts this week these flowery lovelies focus on Ivy.  With its historical references and Celtic drama - theres really so much intertwining the Ivy plant.  It symbolises not only friendships but also marital bliss and can be found through history, especially in Ireland, on monument stones dating back through hundreds of years. You'll be amazed. 

And, as if all that isn't enough, Paulie and Lucy honour the memory of Remembrance Day this November and uncover some fascinating and moving facts about the Poppy.  This delicate and fragile flower has ing been associated with Remembrance Sunday and you'll learn who was behind its initial use and why.  There'e even a rendition of a classic poem 'In Flanders Fields' to round off this rather poignant and memorable episode.

Fabulous Flowers tv duet, Lucy & Paulie are all about Hypericum this week.  An amazing plant or shrub with pretty flowers and a fantastic autumnal show or warm red berries.   Hear how it grows pretty much everywhere and in many different guises, it is even a butterfly favourite.  

Some may know Hypericum by is other name too St Johns Wort. Used for millennia in so many medical ways it has gained it name from a summer Saints Day and produces a nectar that has been heralded as an alternative to modern medicine which is still used even today. 

Paulie loves to use Hypericum as it offers several different looks and can bring enormous texture and variety to his floristry and client work. 

Floriography Fun Facts go all herby this week!  The Bay is an evergreen herb and has been a staple in cookery since the Ancient Greeks use it to flavour many dishes.  It carries two meanings for a recipient when sent as a message in a bouquet or as a gift, so you'll be right up to speed on Bay should you want to sent this particular message.  

Hear how Paulie uses Bay in some of his incredible floral creations too - you'll be amazed. 

There's so much fun in this episode, theres even a 'shoe-off' with Craig Revel Horwood that will make you laugh out loud.

With Halloween nearly upon us, our Fabulous Flowers tv duo, Lucy & Paulie, concentrate on a real Autumnal favourite, Physalis - probably better known as Chinese Lanterns.  These architectural seed pods are a really textural and interesting addition to any display and as they are a paper thin, dried floral accessory they don't actually require water, so you can introduce them to so many different arrangements and displays.

Paulie shares a wonderful story where Chinese Lanterns nearly caused an upset when he was the Friendly Florist on 'This Morning' with Richard & Judy Finnegan.  

Great for any Autumnal or seasonal celebrations from Harvest Festival and Thanksgiving to Guy Fawkes, these little orange beauties with their bright lantern like effect are completely warm and enchanting.

This week the Fabulous Flowers tv duo Paulie and Lucy focus on Antirrnhum. Or as you might know them - Snapdragons!

From the Greek for 'snout', these ravishing and fluffy blooms are used widely by Paulie for many event and celebrity displays and come in all kinds of heights and colours. Listen to some great tips on how to use and condition these flowers and also a great tip for keeping your vase water clear and stopping it from smelling. 

With their links to witchcraft, European castles, and even a youthful face wash! ..... Snapdragons are such a historically mentioned and heralded bloom. 

The Iris is this weeks Floriography Fun Fact with its messages when sent and  how these messages can vary on the colour of the Iris chosen to send. 

Hear how the Iris inspired Kings and Family emblems worldwide, as well as growing out of the walls of the city of Florence, in Italy.  With links to French Kings and Dutch painter Vincent Van Gough, the Iris is a fascinating subject for a few fun facts and historical references.
