This is The Hedge, where we discuss investing, growing wealth and building an authentic, happy and fulfilling life. Why The Hedge? A hedge is something that protects against a negative outcome. We’ve all heard of hedging your bets. We know that a hedge fund makes money when stock markets go down as well as up. That is what I want to provide to you. Information, mindset, news, ideas and trends that makes sure you are in a position to win and grow wealth, no matter whether the world is up or down. Importantly, being wealthy is not just about saving every penny of tax and diversifying your portfolio. That’s part of it, but it’s also about playing to your strengths in your career, building businesses that give you freedom, and living and working in a way that makes you feel happy and fulfilled.
Something a bit different this week, I recorded this episode while going Live on TikTok, which is a platform that I am loving. And no, I'm not dancing.
I'd love to hear what you thought about the more rapid fire episode. Jump over to the website and drop me a line at thehedge.io
This week on the show I'm breaking down some of the financial jargon you've surely come across when looking to invest your hard earned cash. If you want to join the Discord Server then you can do that here.

Joined by Peter Komolafe to talk through the latest in the world of investing and personal finance. You may remember Pete from his past appearance on the show, he run the successful Conversation of Money YouTube channel, podcast and Instagram account.
He's recently made the jump to the big(ger) screen as well, appearing as an expert on Channel 4's Secret Spenders.
Really enjoyed catching up with Pete, I hope you enjoy the episode.

Got a great listener question about margin lending or using leverage to invest on today's show, and I'm also looking at what happens if your investment platform goes bust!

Hello listeners of The Hedge! I'm pumped up today and ready to bring you a fresh episode of the show. I'm trying to put a bit of perspective to the mess that we're in at the moment. It's not all doom and gloom and we have more options than we think!
Got a question? Hit me up at thehedge.io - I'd love to hear from you!
A number of different topics on this weeks showing, including a great question from listener Nick. I discussed how to organise paper share certificates that your Mum or Grandad probably has lying around, as well as a rundown on the current state of crypto.
I also talk about how different investments often perform during a recession, and what that means for your portfolio.
Got questions? HMU @ thehedge.io
I'm back on the mic after a couple of weeks off. Thanks for your patience and well wishes. On this week's show, I talk through what it means when we go into a recession and what it might mean for you and your investments.
Liquidity. It's a term I throw out all the time when talking about investments, but I don't think I've ever actually explained exactly what it means and why it's so important. So that's the plan for today! I talk through this often glossed over topic, and why it's something you should really be aware of in your own portfolio.
